Amstel Light

Amstel illustrations for their 'Savour Complexity' campaign working with Droga5 in New York. The brief was to "Reveal the complexity behind simple or common things in a surprising, graphic and entertaining way." Illustrations were used across billboards, digital and mobile banners, and in-bar materials.

Did you know there are over 20 countries around the world that consider Spanish their main language.

Working with the new director of Instituto Cervantes Manchester at the end of last year, together we came up with the ‘One Language So Many Cultures’ campaign idea for the centre to broaden the view that IC wasn’t just a Spanish Centre, and celebrate all the different Spanish cultures around the globe.

Using my hand lettering and simplistic doodle style illustrations we managed to create non replicable, attention grabbing set of visual assets to function over a host of online and offline communications.

Commission from Manchester International Festival to illustrate the stories of what the festival meant to members of the public. From transcribed interviews I typographically illustrated their portraits from photos taken by Bec Lumpton.

The Lightboard acts like a transparent whiteboard which is positioned in front of the presenter allowing them to draw/write on the glass while facing their audience (the camera). Collaboration with Sound & Colour Films.

Commissioned for Hyper Island Manchester to produce a mural to represent the school’s philosophy. The illustration started at 5pm and ended at 12.30am, with only a short break for an egg and cress sandwich.

From Lego and beer to Metallica and bicycles it’s all in there.

For the 87th Oscars, I was one of 15 artists from around the world invited to be part of their creative campaign, "Imagine What’s Possible." The 15 artworks created were used in key broadcast moments during and in the run up to the special event.

Working with around 20 youths at Mahdlo (Oldham spelt backwards) Youth centre I designed and then facilitated the painting of a large scale 10 meter wide wall mural.

With the Big Apple I wanted to keep the typography in a similar style but have subtle nuances between the 5 boroughs of New York. So Manhattan is written in a font style that echos the height of the buildings with the clouds, Empire State building shape and the congested feel. Brooklyn is famous for it's brick buildings so I used more blocky letters and so on.

I was honoured to work with Amnesty International on their annual 'Write for Rights' campaign. I was asked to produce twelve illustrations representing cases of human rights abuses from around the world. Each artwork was designed to tell the stories of people's suffering and encourage Amnesty's supporters to write to them and their respective governments for action. My imagery has been used across online, print and outdoor campaigns across the globe and has helped Amnesty gain over 3.7 million sign-ups, please click here to take action

Manchester International Festival has invited 50 artists to develop creative responses to MIF17 commissions. Inspired by MIF's pioneering Dark Matter gigs 'Greetings at 16 R.P.M' is an experimental animation illustrated by Nick Chaffe and kindly produced by James & James. The animation illustrates all the different greetings which are onboard the Voyager 1 Golden Record currently the farthest spacecraft from earth.
